Minimum requirements


  • Unrestricted EASA ATPL (A) 

  • Medical Class 1 

  • Instrument rating 

  • ICAO English Level 5 or 6 

  • Height of at least 157cm

  • Unrestricted right to live and work in the EU

  • Clean crinimal record

 

All the above requirements must be met, and all licenses must be valid and up to date at the time of application.

Please note: As a requirement for employment at SAS, you will be required to undergo a background check and a personal security interview, as well as complete a drug and alcohol test. Both the security interview and testing must be conducted in the city where you will be based.* Non-Scandinavian EASA licenses are accepted but must be converted before course start.


Flight time requirements


  • 4,000 total flight hours, including 250 hours as PIC or PICUS  

or

  • 3,500 total flight hours, including 500 hours as PIC on aircraft with MTOW > 16T  

or

  • 3,000 total flight hours, including 1,000 hours as PIC on aircraft with MTOW > 16T 


SAS Pilot Recruitment Process


If you are selected to move forward, the SAS Pilot Recruitment process consists of the following steps:

  • CV Screening – We review your qualifications, licenses, and flying experience.

  • Video Interview – You’ll record answers to a set of predefined questions.

  • Online Interview – A live interview with one of our recruiters.

  • Online Tests – Cognitive and personality assessments.

  • Assessment Day – With group exercises, a simulator session, and a personal interview.

  • Final Checks – Background screening, personal security interview, and drug & alcohol testinPlease note: Each step in the recruitment process may be disqualifying.Candidates who are successful in the initial screening can expect to be invited for assessment during fall/winter 2025/2026, with employment expected to begin in late 2025 or the first half of 2026. Application PeriodWe review applications continuously and may close the ad at short notice.
